What to Expect

Worship

Our worship is structured according to the Regulative Principle. That means that we submit to what has been positively prescribed in the word of God as elements of worship.

These include: prayer, the preaching and teaching of the word of God, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, the public reading of scripture, and the administration of the two ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper.

Our liturgy (order of service) includes: a call to worship; prayer; an Old and New Testament reading; psalms and hymns of praise; adoration and thanksgiving; a time of corporate confession of sin; an assurance of pardon; a time of doctrinal affirmation; the expository preaching of God's word; a doxology and a benediction.

The church also administers the ordinance of the Lord's Supper to its members and visitors of like faith (baptized members in good standing with a church of sound doctrine and practice) each week.

Preaching

God’s Word is the most powerful thing in Creation. Through it, God speaks to us about himself, us, and the world. His word is perfect, eternal, and transformative. Therefore, Liberty Baptist Church preaches from Scripture, verse-by-verse, applying it to our lives and declaring the universal Lordship of Jesus Christ.

God also commands us to reach from our own covenant community to the uttermost part of the earth with the message of the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ. He has also been very specific in the method He has chosen to evangelize the world: by the preaching of the cross! This is, in fact, the power of God to save the lost, and while the modern church has employed many means by which to evangelize, Liberty Baptist Church chooses to return to the simple method of preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Teaching/Discipleship

God has given us the great responsibility, through pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of the ministry. If the church is functioning properly as the body of Christ, it is as a result of the saints fulfilling their roles as active members.

Liberty Baptist Church takes the responsibility of equipping the saints seriously. You will find a healthy diet of consistent, systematic teaching in our worship services and Bible study times. We also place a heavy influence on holding fathers responsible for the daily discipleship of their families, without which the work of the church is greatly hindered.

Music

We love to sing! Our music consists of Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. We sing a mixture of old and new songs. The constant is, we only sing songs that are God-glorifying and Christ-exalting. Songs teach, and so we sing those that declare the deep truths of the Christian faith.

We also believe that worship is participatory. We are not spectators watching talented musicians perform on a stage. The congregation, as one voice, offers their songs to the Lord as a sacrifice of praise.

Family-Integrated

We are a family-integrated church, so all children are welcomed and encouraged to participate in our services. Our desire is that they see their parents and grandparents engaging in corporate worship. We welcome the sound of children, so don’t worry if your child occasionally makes their presence known. We understand, especially with younger children, that you may need to take them out of the service.

To assist parents, we have an unstaffed area set aside in the fellowship hall for young children. The service is live streamed to this area for accompanying parents.

Fellowship

We believe that the local church is the center of our most important and meaningful social interactions.  We exist as a family.  We are the physical, earthly representation of the household of faith and the family of God.  As such, we gather each week on the Lord's Day around the table for food and fellowship.

We also host picnics, BBQs, banquets, and home fellowship meals on a regular basis.  We believe that some of our most endearing relationships in this life are formed through fellowship the ministry of church.
